Things about this awesome car that Scion could have done better. Well hopefully in the next year's model. (in no particular order):
  1. You can't order side airbags AND the "homelink" rear-view mirror. (Apparently there is not enough room for the wiring. I was told it's about 1/4" too narrow to fit both. What a stupid design flaw/decision.)
  2. You can't use the HomeLink garage door opener if the car is off.
my 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse has a Homelink built into the visor (a much cleaner and better place to put this by the way) and it can even do this.
  3. The auto-dimming rear-view mirror has an "on/off" switch (and green LED) which seems completely useless.
    It's "automatic" -- that's the whole point!
  4. For the outrageous $300 mirror, they could have used the same brand that comes with a compass and temperature indicator.
  5. There is a squeeking that comes from the center console
I have a friend with it in her tC, and even the rental car that the dealer lent me had it. It's extremely obnoxious.
  6. The doors don't automatically lock when you begin to drive.
(again, my 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse did this.)
  7. There is no light on the passenger side visor vanity mirror.
Doesn't make my girlfriend very happy.
  8. There is no light in the glove-box. Seriously?! WTF?
  9. There is no indication that the cruise-control is "set", only that it's "on". (In most cars, there is a CC "On" light, and a separate CC "set" light.)
  10. The power mirror switch and position adjuster do not have a back-light.
  11. The door controls for window and lock illuminate in Green while the rest of the dash is orange.
Also, they're simply a little "dot" and not a picture, so you don't know which button is which!
  12. There is an extremely annoying beeping sound that lasts for about a minute when the driver removes his seat-belt and is moving over 10 MPH. Thank God you can disable it
  13. The sunscreen is either open or closed. You can't open it only part way.
  14. There is no trunk release from the inside of the car.
  15. The steering wheel audio controls are a bit sluggish, and it should have also been programmed so that a short click would skip tracks, and a long hold would fast forward/scan a CD track
  16. There is no seat memory, so every time I use the lever to move the seat forward to put something in the back-seat (which is daily for my backpack/notebook), the seat moves forward too and I have to constantly re-adjust it.
  17. There is no multi-disc changer option.
  18. The mirror "creeks" when going from cold (50 degrees) to warm. I have to manually jiggle it to make it stop till the mirror warms up.
  19. In fact, for a car whose design philosophy is to be ala-cart, it's upsetting that I had to purchase a factory stereo at all when they know damn well that most people will put in an after-market one.
  20. Scion sells you lowering springs, but they don't install them!? You have to arrange that separately. Luckily my dealer was happy to charge me to do that installation.
  21. They installed the fog-light switch behind the steering-wheel so you can't see it to push it. It should have been in the left-most slot instead.
  22. The fuel gage goes from "1/1" to "1/2" to "R" ?! WTF is that? Um, how about just "F" to "E" like every other normal car in the world?
  23. There is no navigation offering?!
  24. I believe they could have gotten better gas mileage out of this little car.
